Terms of Service

Last updated: June 1, 2026

1. What this is

Office World Cup is a prediction game for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, delivered as a Slack and Google Chat app. It is not gambling: there are no wagers, entry fees, stakes, or monetary prizes. No real money is risked or awarded based on predictions. It is a workplace game for bragging rights. If prediction pools or similar contests are restricted or regulated in your jurisdiction, you are responsible for confirming that your use of the service is lawful before participating.

2. Who can use the service

Office World Cup is designed for use within corporate and organisational workspaces. By installing or using the service, you represent that you have the authority to act on behalf of the workspace or organisation.

3. Acceptable use

You must use Office World Cup lawfully and respectfully. You agree not to: abuse the bots, interfere with or disrupt the service, attempt unauthorised access, submit misleading payment or workspace information, use the service to harass people or publish unlawful content, or redistribute the service or its data.

4. Intellectual property

We own Office World Cup — its code, design, branding, and content. When you use the service, you get a licence to use it within your workspace for the 2026 tournament. That licence is for your workspace only — you may not redistribute or resell the service.

5. Payments and refunds

The free tier includes up to 10 players. Paid tiers (Startup, Office, Company) are one-time payments with no subscriptions or recurring charges. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Office World Cup does not store your card details.

Refunds are available within 14 days of purchase and before the first match of the tournament (June 11, 2026). After that date, refunds are not available unless a verified technical issue caused by Office World Cup prevented your workspace from using the paid capacity you purchased. To request a refund, email hello@officeworldcup.com.

6. Service availability

Office World Cup is provided "as is". We do our best to keep things running smoothly, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted access, perfect scoring, or that nothing will ever go wrong. There are no express or implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

The service depends on Slack, Google Chat, Stripe, football-data.org, and cloud infrastructure. If one of those has an outage, changes their API, or delays match data, that may affect Office World Cup — and that's outside our control.

7. Fair play

Predictions are locked on submission and cannot be edited. Tournament picks (World Cup winner and Golden Boot) are locked when the first match kicks off on June 11, 2026. We may correct obvious scoring or data errors where needed to keep the game fair.

8. Termination and suspension

We can suspend or shut off your access if you breach these terms, act abusively, or if we need to for legal or security reasons. You can stop using Office World Cup at any time by uninstalling the app. Termination does not entitle you to a refund except as described in section 5.

9. Limitation of liability

We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages — things like lost profits, lost data, or missed business opportunities — arising from your use of the service.

If something does go wrong, the most we will owe you is what your workspace actually paid for Office World Cup, or GBP 50, whichever is greater.

None of this limits liability for things the law says we can't exclude, like fraud or personal injury caused by negligence.

10. Third-party services

Office World Cup relies on third-party platforms and data providers. You are responsible for complying with the terms that apply to your Slack workspace, Google Workspace, Stripe account, and any other provider you use through the service. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of any third-party service.

11. Not affiliated with FIFA

Office World Cup is an independent product. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to FIFA, the 2026 FIFA World Cup, or any football governing body.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify affected workspaces via the bot or by email at least 7 days before the changes take effect, unless the change is required for legal compliance or security, in which case it may take effect immediately. Continued use of the service after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales. If mandatory consumer protection law in your country gives you the right to bring proceedings locally, nothing here overrides that.

14. Operator and contact

Office World Cup is operated by Ioan Djambov. For questions about these terms, contact hello@officeworldcup.com.
